The Union boutique, located in the Alleyway, closed recently and I was given one month to prepare an art event. The
place looked really nice but I still needed to do some works to adapt it to be
able to host an art exhibition. Igathereda group of emerging artists and art
professionals. They were all excited about this opportunity to show their
newest creations.
We transformed the space from this:
To that:
Doing a simple art exhibition was not enough for
me. I see exhibitions everyday and I must say I got bored of the serious
atmosphere you find in white cubes. I wanted to do an event that would attract
not only art people but aIl kind of people. And this is how I combined
contemporary art with cooking art, music, mime, and street art, to make this of this art exhibtion an art fiesta :)
The Exhibition:
The exhibition featured paintings by Sarah Francis and Sandra Issa, a video work by Sandra Suarez& MArcuss Lahoud, photography by May Farra and Sherine Raffoul and sculpture by Arlette Sauveur.
The opening:
The opening night was Thrusday June 28, 2012 and gathered all kind of people: friends, architects, art professionals, students; in a very friendly atmosphere.
